WASH YOUR VASE

You'll want to make sure the vase you choose to put your flowers in has been thoroughly cleaned.

FILL WITH WATER

You only need to put a few inches of cool water - don't need to fill it very high.

LEAVES AND FOLIAGE

Make sure to pull off any leaves or foliage that will be under water in your vase - these can lead to bacteria in the water and kill your flowers prematurely.

TRIM YOUR STEMS

Before arranging your flowers in your vase, trim the end of the stems at an angle with [sharpened] floral shears - not scissors!

MAINTENANCE

Try to change the water and trim stems about a half inch every other day.  *Bonus points for changing the water every day!*

If one flower dies, take it out and discard it and leave the rest.

VASE PLACEMENT

Unlike many planted flowers, try to keep cut flowers out of direct sunlight and away from air vents.
